Sharp is launching in Greater China Region its SH530U Android smartphone. With Sharp’s logo on it, the mid-range handset is in fact an ODM from Foxconn. It features a simplistic design and comes with no front-facing buttons. As it is powered by MediaTek’s platform, the SH530U features dual-SIM with dual standby capability. While both SIM card slots support GSM network, only one of them can handle 3G WCDMA/HSDPA mobile data connection.
The Sharp SH530U runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on MediaTek MT6577 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. It has 16GB internal memory and doesn’t support microSD expansion. The smartphone sports large 5-inch 480×800 touchscreen display, a 5 Megapixel auto focus main camera, a 0.3 Megapixel front camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, and GPS.
Sharp SH530U measures 146.5 x 81 x 9.9 and weighs 175.6g. It is priced at HK$2988 (US$386).
